What makes you different?
I don’t think I am different, I just try to let it grow.
When did you decide to become an artist?
About 15 years ago, friends invited me to be part of their exhibition.
Do you choose your art form, or does the form choose you?
I was chosen.
What do you find most fascinating about your work?
That it is hard to figure out when my work is exactly finished. Everything is always possible. I have to inspect it for ages until I know that there is nothing to add or to omit. I have one million thoughts when I paint and I try not to think at the same time.
A few words about your favorite creation?
Whenever there could be a favorite painting, I try to keep on working to create the favorite after the favorite painting. But what is more important is, that I focus more on keeping the level of my whole body of work high.
What surprised you most about your first art shows?
People actually came

Who would you like to work with someday and why?
Florian Huber, because he used to have a big cello in his studio.
A new project coming up or an idea you want to work on?
We organized quite a few group shows with our stromzähler artist group and soon did our 10th-anniversary show.
However, I really look forward to my next solo show which I have been planning for a while now.

2022: Where are we going?
Finish big paintings in Vils / Tirol at Klaus Auderers space and
maybe leaving Munich.
Do you think about time as an artist?
Yes, because time is an illusion.
Speed and light is the only thing that counts.
When the going gets tough…
I end up with a swollen ankle because I could not stop.
Put on your future vision glasses: What direction is our generation moving in, what will our world look like in 50 years?
No problems with bad teeth at all, second teeth can regrow over and over again in every color you want. A lot of digital stuff will happen in our minds while the body gets useless. Maybe painting will be one of the few art forms that can not be perfectly copied by a robot, but maybe my amazon cyborg will paint better than me in about 5 min after I charged its battery.

What does freedom mean when it comes to art?
No thinking is involved.
If the universe is everything and it’s expanding, what is it expanding into?
Tell us about your future plans…
Get a bigger space outside of town and produce more stuff there.
