Who are you? What do you do?

I am an artist, I paint, draw, dream & play… I often feel like a child inside.

Where are you from?

I am from the south of Germany & Aachen, but I live in Cologne.

Your style in 3 words?

colour abundance, intuitive, expressive

Your weakness? Your strength?

playful dreamer, doubtful, accurate, slow, strong perception

What makes you different?

I need a lot of time and freedom like so many others do.

When did you decide to become an author artist?

During my studies at the art college I experienced this powerful moment of certainty and bliss when I was painting, that`s when I knew that painting is vital for me.

What do you find most fascinating about the creative process/your work?

It is that uncontrollable fragile moment of certainty and bliss that may occur in a good work flow. And making art can soothe and ground, even heal me.

A few words about your favourite creation?

It’s impossible to choose one single work. There is a number of works that I want to keep in my studio and around me. I want to look at them once in a while. If a work can withstand time, means keeping its impact and depth, it is a favourite creation to me.

Someone else’s work that inspired or inspires you…

There are so many….to name some classics: Corot, Cezanne and Matisse. Helen Frankenthaler again and again! Contemporaries are sensitively powerful women like Marina Adams, Nicky Hodge, Gabriele Herzog and my friend Judith Anna Schmidt!

Who would you like to work with someday and why?

Besides working with other artists I would like to work with a gallery or an art space some day to gain more recognition and appreciation!

A new project coming up or an idea you want to work on?

I am currently working with Judith Anna Schmidt on our new project “Kairos II”, in which we want to present our painterly exchange and dialogue that started off in 2017 on instagram and became reality with our duo exhibition “Kairos I” in 2018.

Finish the sentence „More important than my career is…“

… to enjoy painting.

2021: Where are we going?

I hope we can develop an awareness of slowing down, gain more appreciation for the simple things, nature and the mere moment.

When the going gets tough…

I turn on music, read a good book or get in contact with the people closest to me and let myself become grounded again.

Your city’s favourite spots?

My studio and my “Veedel” (district) in Cologne

Put on your future vision glasses: What direction is our generation moving in, what will our world look like in 50 years?

I hope it will be better than it is often anticipated right now. I hope that smart people will make the decisions.

What would you do if you could change the World?

Stop all wars and spread love instead.

If the universe is everything and it’s expanding, what is it expanding into?

It’s good that the universe lies beyond our imagination.

Tell us about your future plans…

Finding an appropriate space for “Kairos II”. And painting, painting and painting again.

Your city’s favourite spots?

I appreciate the variety of public places, restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, cinemas, off spaces, galleries and museums in a town like Cologne.
