Who are you? What do you do?

I am a painter living in London.

Where are you from?

I am from Hamburg, Germany.

Your style in 3 words?

Delicate, intimate, fragmented

Your weakness? Your strength?

I am the most anxious person I know, but I know what I want.

What makes you different?

I am a very organized person and have to write everything down. All has to be in order for me to feel comfortable. Itʼs only when I paint, that I can let go and produce a real mess.

When did you decide to become an artist?

The first time I set foot in an art school. The vibe just got me.

What do you find most fascinating about the creative?

Standing in front of an empty canvas. Nothing is impossible.

A few words about your favourite creation?

I donʼt really have a favourite. Each painting is a new challenge. One leads to the other.

Someone elseʼs work that inspired or inspires you…

Jorinde Voigt, Richard Tuttle, Shana Moulton, Georgiana Houghton, Rose Wylie, Karla Black… just to name a few.

A new project coming up or an ide, you want to work on?

Always more painting, obviously. Maybe some drawings. Hopefully being able to work more space-related.

Finish the sentence „More important than my career is…“

… walking and painting. Painting and walking.

2018: Where are we going?

L.A. in the summer. Then hopefully London again, maybe Berlin… I donʼt know yet.

When the going gets tough…

… a change in perspective helps. Being at the top of a high building. Everything looks so small and suddenly everything is less daunting. Or going on an extensive walk, not knowing where it is leading me.

What would you do if you could change the World?

Phew… I donʼt know.

Tell us about your future plans…
