We went to Unreasonable, the solo exhibition of Florence Cantié-Kramer at Galerie Rabouan Moussion, Paris. In the exhibition space several materials are in constant opposition and respond in an ongoing dialogue, highlighting in turn their fragility or their density. It is a work of great sensuality, which collide with the sacred and the profane. Materials overlap without losing their raw character.

The artist invites the viewer to abandon his earthly body to enter into a lunar atmosphere. Mythology stops where there is no natural light, but the brutality and fragility of neon. Thus, the modulated field refers to the idea of a general dialectic between nature and culture that resembles the Arte Povera.

With the friction between materials, Florence Cantié-Kramer gives rise to multiple meanings. A bunch of asparagus carved in alabaster are currently presented at the gallery. And if the show is built around the notion of conflict this works appear as an incentive for peace and mutual respect of shapes and structures.

Indeed, its collector Charles Ephrussi estimated this work just to pay up to the pleasure it gave him.
