Otto Freundlich was born in Germany, he is one of the most famous abstract Artist of the 20. century. Freundlich is well known for his impressively colorful abstract paintings and mosaics. Together with Max Ernst und Johannes Theodor Baargeld he organized the first Dada exhibition in Cologne. The artist lived most of his time in France, where he escaped from the National Socialists. He was a founding member of the November group, an artists’ association founded in 1918 in Berlin. The group was banned in 1935 by the National Socialists, they also denounced him in the exhibition of degenerate art.
